NFL Training Camps Open
Players in the NFL have to sharpen their skills before the season begins. Make sure to stay up to date on all the latest injuries, trades, and cuts.
Month of July
SDFFL Year Expires
All players cut before this deadline effect the budget of the season started the prior September.
August 1, 2026 11:59 am
New SDFFL Year Begins
Deadline for old year / salary cap. Official end of the season.
Cap space for the teams is recalculated. All transactions following this date will effect the monies for the upcoming SDFFL Draft.
There is NO FREE AGENCY at this point in the season. Trades may still be made.

Free Agent Signing Day
Owners exercise options on Free Agents (1 or 2 Year), assign Restricted Free Agent tags, or release players out of contract.
ALWAYS takes place one week prior to the Draft.

Trade and Termination Window Opens
Trade and Player Contract Termination begins.
Teams may trade or cut players from the conclusion of the Super Bowl until Noon, 1 August (Deadline on the old year salary cap).
No free agent acquisitions. All transactions effect the current salary cap.
